A.N.A.R.E. Club Inc.

Welcome to the ANARE Club Site

Introducing The Club

The ANARE Club was founded in 1951 by veterans of the early Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). Membership is open to all men and women who have served in Antarctica and sub-Antarctica with Australian expeditions; associate membership is available to those who have served with other polar expeditions.

The Club exists to promote Australia's interests in Antarctica, to publicise the achievements of Australians in Antarctica, to inform members of current concerns and on-going activities in Antarctica and to keep members in touch with the Club and with fellow expeditioners. This is done via the Club's quarterly journal Aurora (now an internationally acclaimed journal of Antarctic science and exploration), also on the Club's Internet Web site http://www.anareclub.org.au , by promoting public meetings and lectures and by organising social events.
