Fourth Country Mid-winter Dinner
Following a brief telephone conference with Jock McGhee, and in
response to many requests, I have arranged with the Royal Tara Motel
and Convention Centre in Binalong to host our fourth country mid-winter dinner. * There
will be all of the advantages we enjoyed this year. As we did on the
stations it will run from midday until whenever in the afternoon,
allowing most to drive there on the day, with easy access from the Hume
Expressway. There will be a full three-course a la carte menu including
oysters, prawns, baramundi, eye fillet steaks, crepes, and more. This
sumptuous treat will cost less than you expect. See page 19 of your
September 2009 "AURORA" for details of our last function and who came.
As formerly it will be BYO with no corkage fees. For the motel guests
there will be parking at the door of your suite, and we will have the
gratis use of the Convention Centre for evening socialising. You can
walk back to your own suite, sleep it off, and drive home after a full
breakfast in the morning.
It will not clash with other ANARE dinners. Date? Wednesday, 23rd June,
2010.
All expeditioners, their families and friends are welcome. Preferred
seating is offered in case you are having a mini-reunion, but seating
is limited to sixty. You are urged to
book by May 23rd. While it is not planned to have any formal
programme at the dinner, requests will be considered. If you are
unfamiliar with the venue, ask any of your mates who came to the 2009
ding. No, I have no business connection whatsoever with the Royal Tara
Motel.
Best Wishes Steve W61, W63. Date: 27/10/09

there are no traffic lights all the way. There are no parking meters in
Binalong.
P.S. Already there are six bookings including Fred Elliott H53, M54 and
Robyn
* The first was at the Birdsville Hotel as part of Odyssey 2000, the
second at the White Lion Hotel in Deniliquin as part of Odyssey 2004 to
Tibooburra, and the third was at Binalong earlier this year.
