This voyage conducted the Wilkes relief between 2 and 12 January. Bad weather hindered operations, which included the landing of explosives, new huts, a Weasel, two D4 tractors, drums of fuel and general stores. A store hut was completed and a launching ramp built. On the return voyage the ship was delayed deviating to avoid fast ice extending from the Petersen Bank. An Indian observer accompanied the expedition.
